Bonar Yarns Shortlisted as Finalist for Made in Scotland Awards

Last week it was announced that Bonar Yarns have been recognised as one of three finalists for the 2016 Made in Scotland Awards, within the ‘Manufacturer of the Year’ category.

The awards are a way to celebrate Scottish innovation, in partnership with Royal Bank of Scotland, shining a spotlight on the achievements of various organisations and individuals across all sectors of Scottish industry.

We’ve been named as a ‘Manufacturer of the Year’ finalist, due to our continued and outstanding manufacturing efforts, having transformed the factories capabilities from a purpose based jute mill to meet the needs of an ever increasingly diverse market – particularly in Dundee where they are one of the last remaining manufacturing sites within the local area.

The ‘Manufacturer of the Year’ category is for the most outstanding manufacturer in Scotland which demonstrates innovation, a commitment to excellence, sales growth and increased profitability between October 2014 and September 2015. The award will recognize and reward the very best Scottish manufacturer.

As synthetic yarn specialists, we are at the forefront of development and innovation in regards to synthetic yarn technologies for artificial turf and woven carpet – not to mention we’re a global market leader in supplying the most advanced yarns to the world’s synthetic turf and carpet producers.

We’re extremely proud to have been shortlisted as one of three finalists placing us amongst some of the most outstanding manufacturers throughout the country, not to mention being highlighted as one of the best manufacturers in Scotland.

The celebration, however, will extend far beyond the awards ceremony by showcasing some of the best and most innovative products and services to be designed and manufactured in Scotland, in recent years. In the Year of Innovation, the awards truly celebrate all aspects of the transformational discoveries and developments in Scotland.

Up against some strong competition, other finalists include Fathom Systems Ltd. And Hydro Group, we would like to wish good luck to all finalists in their respective award categories and congratulations on their achievements in relation to Scottish innovation!

Winners will be announced at the prestigious awards ceremony on Thursday 21st April, at the RBS Gogarburn, Edinburgh.
